Award winning American San
Franciscan comedian, René Hicks has announced a series of UK & European
dates for May.
René was the first
ever black woman to be nominated for the prestigious American Comedy Award,
and has performed extensively on television in the US. Her comedy is an uncompromising
examination of the race issue, looking at intolerance, and more importantly,
what unites people. René herself has said, "We need a lot more laughter
in the world, not the dumb crap that divides us."
The daughter of a Pentecostal
preacher, René was settled in life as a Cartified Public Accountant.
She caught the comedy bug after getting up on stage at a local comedy club,
much to the disgust of her deeply religious mother who feared comedy clubs equalled
strip clubs. However, René has not looked back since, and is particularly
popular in campuses (she has twice won The National College Comedian Of The
Year).

our list does not cover please contact
