Merry
David is currently the
host of Global TV's ht sports trivia show "Game On!" on after Sunday
football at 4:00 pm and "Get a Grip on Golf", a golf show that
can be seen coast to coast in Canada as, on Sunday afternoons at 3:00 pm.
Since his appearances on "SCTV" and "BIZARRE", David
has been on " An Evening at the Improv", "Yuk Yuk's the TV
Show", 3 appearances on "Open Mike with Mike Bullard", "The
Kids in the Hall", 4 episodes of "Comedy at Club 54", "Off
the Record", "The Komedy Kitchen", "Skins and Fins", "Cooking
with Comics", and has just completed his own half hour comedy special
on CBC's ":Comics!". The concert theatre is his true love playing
such famous stages as The Stratford Festival Theatre, The Shaw Festival Theatre,
The Blythe Festival Theatre and as opening act at The Ford Centre with Maureen
Forrester and Michael Burgess, Roy Thomson Hall with Englebert
Humperdinck The Sanderson Centre and The Imperial Room with Neil Sedaka,
The Casinorama Events Pavillion with Michael Bolton, The Kingswood
Music Hall with The Beach Boys The O'Keefe Centre with Howie Mandel,
The National Arts Centre, The Hummingbird Centre, Hamilton Place, Centennial
Hall and The Olympic Theatre with Steven Wright, the Ottawa Civic
Centre with Roche Voisine, The Centre in The Square, The Chrysler
theatre and Convocation Hall with Weird Al Yankovic, Superstars with Jerry
Seinfeld Stages with Kris Kristofferson, The Niagra Falls Convention
Centre with Tommy Chong, Cansius College Theatre with Steve Landesburg & Rich
Hall, The Danforth Music Hall with Billy Newton Davis & The
Nylons.
David has performed with
the "Coconuts", "Comedy Zone" and "Yuk Yuk's" comedy
club chains and has performed at such notable comedy showcase clubs as The
Improv, Catch A Rising Star, the Laff Factory, The Comedy
Store & The Icehouse.
David has performed on
cruise ships on the Caribbean and Mediterranean and has performed in such
far away places as St. Kitts, Bermuda,Greece, Alert (NWT), Lake Tahoe, Monte
Carlo, Amsterdam, Tucson, Maui, Walt Disney World, Yellowknife, Banff, Venezuela,
Gothaab (Greenland), Whistler, Goose Bay, Palm Springs, Queen Charlotte Islands,
Barbaos, Malaga (Spain) Atlantic City, Key Largo, Iqualit and Los Cabos Mexico.
He has written jokes for Rodney Dangerfield and Joan Rivers and
has been a contributing writer for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
David just completed a full length motion picture called Diner at Freds,
starring Christopher Lloyd for Paragon Pictures as comedy and magic
consultant.
As a professional golfer,
David has played on The Canadian Tour, The Great Lakes Tour and the North
Atlantic Tour. He keeps extremely busy zipping around the planet doing his
very popular golf outings as The Golf Comic, offering lessons, a clinic
and a comedy show package to the corporate golf market. David made it to
the third round of the World Blackjack Championships in the early
eighties, lectures on gambling and is author of RE-INVENTING THE WHEEL,
a book on advanced roulette procedures. He now lives in Toronto with his
wife Cathy and 3 sons Adam, Brian and Michael!
